Norway spruce somatic embryos

Norway spruce somatic embryos in the 3^rd week of maturation. Embryos are already polarized, root meristem is established. High number of starch grains and protein storage vacuoles is noticable mainly in the root cap.

Embryos were embedded in resin (glycol methacrylate), histological section were stained in PaS reaction in combination with Amido Black - starch grains (in pink) and proteins ( in blue).
